Meet two remarkable musicians from Helsinki whose extensive musical erudition comes into their own right in this project. The duo combines contemporary composition and improvisation and draws inspiration from Finnish and Finnish-Swedish poetry. They bring the textures of thoroughly composed material to the free landscape of improvisation with ease and mastered precision. Anni Elif, who has previously used several poems in her songwriting, dazzles with the versatility of her agile voice, and Seppo Kantonen is right in his element both as a composer and pianist.
